IELTS / VOCABULARY PRACTICE

IELTS VOCABULARY PRACTICE.

IELTS vocabulary practice is more useful when you do more than read a word list. Work with a small group of words, hear them, then try to recall their meanings before checking your answers.

A six-word practice routine

Pick six unfamiliar words from something you are already reading for IELTS. For example: analyse, approach, assess, evidence, factor, and significant. Check each meaning and say or listen to each word once. Hide the meanings, then explain all six in your own words. Reveal the answers, mark the words you missed, and try those again later. This exercise works with your own word list, even before you open Yanko.

How Yanko runs a session

Choose a word book and set the size of your batch. Yanko shows the words, repeats them aloud, and asks you to bring them back through a six-cell recall grid. The routine focuses on seeing, hearing, and recalling vocabulary rather than a spelling test.

Make the words yours

Start with a manageable batch, check what you could recall, and return to the words that need more attention. Use this as one part of IELTS preparation alongside reading, listening, writing, and speaking practice. Yanko does not promise a particular exam score.
